AR Coding for Nature Exploration for Junior

Grades: K-2

Length: 1 week

Accreditation: Fully WASC Accredited (The Gold Standard in K-12 Education)

Prerequisite: None

DESCRIPTION

Junior Nature Explorers will do more than just watch nature documentaries—they will step inside them! They will learn Scratch coding and Holographic AR design to bring the wild to life, creating roaring lions, fluttering butterflies, or deep-sea dolphins.

Then, the real magic happens. No goggles or headsets needed! Using just a standard webcam, your child creates a portal to transport directly into the environments they built.

No experience needed—everyone learns at their own pace, with extra challenges for kids who are ready for more.

Imagine swimming alongside a sea turtle in a glowing coral reef, hiding behind a giant fern in a magical rainforest, or standing at the very top of a snowy mountain. They become explorers. Along the way, campers build creativity, critical thinking, and persistence as they debug and improve the nature worlds they create.

Experience the Magic of Holographic AR: We turn coding into a magical, physical experience.

  • Step Inside the Magical Nature World: You don't just move a character with a mouse; you become the character! You will see yourself standing right next to the animals and trees you created.
  • You Move, It Moves: When you jump, your character jumps with you! When you wave, the animals react!
  • Tangible Fun: This physical interaction makes coding feel real and exciting, bringing your child's imagination to life in a way they have never seen before.

What You Will Do:

  • Explore Nature: Use your body to swim with colorful fish, flutter with butterflies, and explore magical forests.
  • Code with Scratch: Learn the basics of logic and sequencing with colorful, block-based coding.
  • Tell Your Story: Create interactive stories where you help friendly animals and solve fun puzzles.
  • Play & Learn: Enjoy hands-on learning with fun indoor/outdoor camp activities.

Students will learn the following:

  • Basic computer, keyboard, mouse, and Internet skills (Junior Level)
  • Introductory Scratch coding (Junior Level)
  • Introductory Holographic Augmented Reality (AR) design and logic (Junior Level)
  • Interactive storytelling and visual communication (Junior Level)
  • Debugging and problem-solving techniques (Junior Level)
  • Fun facts about animals and natural environments (Junior Level)
