AI Robotics NVIDIA AI & AR for High Schoolers

Length: 2 weeks

Accreditation: Fully WASC Accredited (The Gold Standard in K-12 Education)

Prerequisite: None

DESCRIPTION

Step into the world of AI Robotics. Over two intensive weeks, you will build a smart mechanical rover and learn the NVIDIA AI technology used in self-driving cars to give it intelligent vision.

No experience needed—everyone learns at their own pace, with extra challenges for students who are ready for more.

You will bridge the gap between hardware and software. First, you construct the robot and learn its movement using code. Then, you dive into the "brain" of modern robotics—learning NVIDIA AI separately to process visual data and create a system that understands the world.

Week 1: Robotics, Python & The Digital Twin Focus on the "Body." You will assemble a Smart Robot equipped with futuristic Mecanum wheels and a mechanical arm. You will learn Python coding to control its drift, speed, and hardware mechanics. Using Holographic Augmented Reality (AR), you will "teleport" into the robot’s environment, partnering with it to solve physical challenges remotely.

Week 2: NVIDIA AI & Computer Vision Focus on the "Brain." You will move to the NVIDIA AI platform (learned as a separate, powerful AI station). You will explore Computer Vision—teaching an AI system to "see" and recognize objects. You will then write Python code that connects this intelligence to your robot, allowing it to react to the real world based on AI logic.

The Magic of Cutting-Edge Tech

  • The Robot That Sees: The robot doesn't just bump into obstacles; using the AI techniques you learn, the system can identify what objects are.
  • Teleport & Control: Use Holographic AR to enter your robot's digital twin world. Imagine your robot is exploring a hazardous zone. You teleport in via AR, guiding it through complex terrain.
  • Real AI Power: Dive deeper into Python and NVIDIA technology to understand how machines make decisions, moving from manual control to automated logic.

The Hardware

  • Robot: A Mecha Armed smart robot powered by Raspberry Pi PicoW (industry standard) technology, featuring programmable sensors, Mecha Arms, and Mecanum Wheels with Omni Directional Tires, to explore sophisticated sensor technologies and advanced control systems.
  • AI Integrated System: This system, mountable on the smart robot, acts as the AI brain, endowing the robot with intelligence.
  • AI Language Processing System: This system, mountable on the smart robot, acts as the AI Language processor, endowing the robot to understand human voice commands.
  • Note: The smart robot hardware is provided for camp use, not to take home.
