integem course Intro to Robotics & Magic Design for Junior

Intro to Robotics & Magic Design for Junior

Grades: K-2

Length: 1 week

Accreditation: Fully WASC Accredited (The Gold Standard in K-12 Education)

Prerequisite: None

DESCRIPTION

Designed for enthusiastic beginners, this camp turns "playing with Lego bricks" into true invention. Students will build their own robots using Lego-style bricks, gears, and electronic motors. But we don't just build—we bring them to life! Students learn to code their robots to move and react. Then, they combine physical building with digital magic: using Holographic AR, they can visualize their robot driving on Mars or swimming under the ocean, blending their physical creation with an exciting digital world.

Along the way, campers build creativity, critical thinking, and persistence as they debug and improve the robots they create.

No experience needed—everyone learns at their own pace, with extra challenges for kids who are ready for more.

Experience the Magic of Robotics + AR: We combine hands-on construction with the magic of digital technology.

  • Real Programmable Robotics: We use enhanced Lego-style bricks equipped with electronic motors and smart programmable controllers. Students don't just watch a toy move; they code the robot movement themselves!
  • Wireless Control: Students learn how to control their robots remotely, teaching them the basics of wireless communication and logic.
  • Double the Fun with a Digital Twin: You won’t just build a robot; you will create its digital twin! Experience the magic of connecting the real and virtual worlds with AR: as your robot zooms across the floor in real life, its digital reflection moves instantly in the Holographic AR world. Watch them work together as you step inside the game to interact with your robot creation.

What You Will Do:

  • Build Lego-style Robots: Construct robotic cars, animals, or machines using bricks, gears, axles, and motors.
  • Code Movement: Use block-based coding (Blockly) to tell your robot when to move, turn, and how fast to go.
  • Visualize with AR: Create a digital world for your robot! See your physical robot "teleport" into a galaxy or underwater adventure.
  • Play & Learn: Enjoy a hands-on learning with fun indoor/outdoor camp activities.
  • Note: The robot hardware is provided for camp use, not to take home.

Students will learn the following:

  • Computer, keyboard, mouse, and Internet skills (Junior Level)
  • Introductory Robotics Engineering (Junior Level)
  • Introductory Robotics Coding (Junior Level)
  • Introductory Holographic AR concepts (Junior Level)
  • Introductory Holographic AR logic (Junior Level)
  • Introductory Holographic AR coding (Junior Level)
  • Debugging and Problem-solving (Junior Level)

⚠️ Essential Safety & Readiness Guide (Please Read) To ensure a safe and happy camp for our students and classrooms, please ensure your child is ready for the following:

  • Small Parts Safety: We use small robotics components. Students must have the motor control to handle small parts without putting them in their mouths. This is strictly enforced to prevent choking hazards.
  • Gentle Hands: Robotics parts are fragile and expensive. Students must be able to handle equipment gently; throwing or mistreating equipment is not permitted.
  • Listening Skills: Students must be able to follow teacher instructions to prevent damage to the equipment and ensure class safety.
