GRADES: 6-8
LENGTH:1 week
DESCRIPTION
Teen Robotics engineers (Grades 6-8) will dive into a captivating adventure in the Robotics Engineering & AR Coding Camp, where their passion for learning will intertwine with the intriguing world of robotics and augmented reality (AR) coding. This camp presents an exciting array of activities, spanning from fundamental robot sensor control and coding to advanced lessons in robotics maneuver and motion control. Students will experience the excitement of remotely launching robots and teleport into an augmented reality world, giving life to their robotic designs in an interactive and lively way.
This camp is fully accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC).
This camp is open to all skill levels, with no prerequisite knowledge in computers or robotics, making it a perfect starting point for aspiring Teen learners.
Fun outdoor and indoor activities and plays are part of the camp experience.
Picture this: being able to teleport to any place in the universe, from the uncharted depths of the ocean to the furthest corners of the galaxy, overseeing robots that sense, interact, and achieve remarkable feats. This vision encapsulates the magical synergy between robotic engineering and holographic AR, where technology transcends boundaries.
The following hardware will be provided in the camp for each student:
· Robot: a smart robot, featuring programmable sensors, Mecha Arms, and Mecanum Wheels with Omni Directional Tires, to explore sophisticated sensor technologies and advanced control systems.
The camp's curriculum is designed to be engaging and inspiring with following modules:
1. Introduction to Robotics Mechanics
2. Introduction to Robotics Motor Controls
3. Introduction to Robotics Sensors
4. Introduction to Robotics Coding
5. Introduction to AR Coding for Robotics Control
6. Design Your Own Robotics Application with AR Control
Throughout the camp, students will not only boost their AR coding skills but also learn to combine their robotic projects with augmented reality, adding an exciting layer of digital interactivity. They will enjoy the unique opportunity to remotely launch and control their robots within an AR framework, blending the physical and digital worlds in an innovative educational setting.
What is the magic of Integem Robotics Engineering & AR Coding Camp over traditional Robotics camps?
The Integem Robotics Engineering & AR Coding Camp offers a unique and enchanting experience, skillfully blending traditional robotics education with the innovative world of augmented reality (AR), while also enhancing the standard robotics engineering curriculum for this age group. Here's how:
Advancing Beyond Traditional Robotics: The camp builds upon the basics of traditional robotics education, introducing students to more advanced aspects of robotics suitable for their age. This progression allows them to explore beyond standard robotics classes, engaging with more complex sensors and control systems. The focus is on programming robots for more interactive and responsive actions, tailored to their learning level without overwhelming them.
Incorporating Holographic AR Technology: A key highlight of the camp is the integration of Holographic AR technology. This innovative approach enables students to operate their robots remotely and immerse themselves in simulated, future-forward scenarios. Holographic AR gives them the ability to control robots in a variety of settings, even those that might be inaccessible or hazardous, all from the safety of a virtual environment.
Interactive and Dynamic Learning Experience: This combination of more advanced robotics and AR technology transforms the camp into an engaging, dynamic, and interactive learning journey. Students aren't just learning about current technologies; they're experiencing a unique blend where robotics and AR intersect, offering a glimpse into future technological possibilities.
Fostering Essential Skills: Beyond the foundational aspects of traditional robotics education, the camp emphasizes the development of critical skills such as problem-solving and precision. As students see their programmed robots and AR projects come to life, they become more invested in the process of tweaking and perfecting their designs. This cycle of observation, refinement, and improvement cultivates persistence and adaptability, essential traits for success in the rapidly changing world of technology.

Robotics Camp Safety Note: Mandatory Requirements for Participation
Prioritizing Health and Safety: At our Robotics camp, ensuring the safety of each student is paramount. Given the nature of the activities and the diverse needs of our participants, we have established essential safety requirements:
- Handling Components with Care: All students are required to handle small parts with both hands, ensuring control and safety. It is mandatory to avoid putting any parts in the mouth. This is a strict requirement due to choking hazards and health concerns.
- Mandatory Adherence to Instructions: To maintain a safe and productive learning environment, it is essential that students follow the teacher's instructions at all times. This is not just for their own safety, but also for the safety of others in the class.
- Appropriate Behavior with Components: Students must handle all robotics components with care to prevent any damage or injury. Actions such as throwing parts are strictly prohibited and could lead to immediate removal from the camp.
Important for Parents/Guardians: Please evaluate whether your child can safely adhere to these safety requirements. This is especially crucial if your may need additional support or accommodation. Our teachers strive to provide individual attention, but it is not possible to monitor each student every second. If you have concerns about your child's ability to adhere to these safety requirements, please contact us to discuss further.
Adherence to these rules is non-negotiable and crucial for ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all participants. We are committed to creating a stimulating, educational, and safe environment, fostering a passion for technology and innovation.
Thank you for your cooperation and understanding in creating a safe learning space for all.
